The ideal combination: active water coolers + heat exchangers
Combining coolers with an end-of-line heat exchangers is of real interest for industrial processes as well as for laboratory applications, for example.
Why?
- The cooling system, such as an active chiller, ensures a stable production of cold water (where there is not necessarily a chilled water loop, or one that is too inefficient). However, it is not always sufficient to guarantee a perfectly controlled and precise temperature at the point of use;
- The end-of-line heat exchanger allows accurate control by compensating for heat losses related to fluid transport and process load variations.
This combination therefore improves thermal accuracy, which is essential for the quality of tests, the repeatability of results and the safety of sensitive equipment.
It also allows for better responsiveness to rapid changes in operating conditions, by stabilizing the temperature as close as possible to the application.
Finally, this configuration optimizes the overall energy efficiency of the installation: the cooler operates more regularly, while the exchanger ensures the final adjustment, thus reducing overconsumption and wear on the equipment.
As for water/water heat exchangers in particular, they constitute an efficient and reliable solution for cooling industrial processes.
They allow heat to be transferred from one circuit to another without mixing fluids, thus guaranteeing the safety and cleanliness of the installations.
