VENTILATION

Why ventilate a cabinet or room that is air-conditioned?
First reminder: Air conditioning does not create cold, it moves heat.
Good ventilation is therefore very often required, not only for thermal efficiency, but for a number of perfectly logical reasons.
1 – Reduce the investment cost of the air conditioner!
Indeed: if the room or cabinet is poorly ventilated, heat accumulates (equipment, electrical losses, motors, etc.) and the air conditioning becomes less efficient, which will require oversizing the air conditioner.
2 – Reduce operating costs
Even if the air conditioner is correctly sized, if the hot air remains trapped and recycled, the unit will run continuously, consume more energy and wear out faster.
Air renewal is therefore also an advantage in terms of consumption and operating costs.
3 – Control the humidity
Confined air (in the cabinet, room or shelter) promotes condensation, and therefore excessive humidity which can generate corrosion and breakdowns (especially in electrical cabinets).
Good ventilation will therefore limit the accumulation of humidity and protect the equipment.
