Example of stainless steel chiller RFI 750 designed to withstand the worst storms at sea!

Four RFI 750 water stainless steel chillers are about to be delivered to REEL, a company based in La Rochelle.
This company, specializing in industrial lifting equipment, is regularly involved in maritime projects (platforms, docks, ships, submarines, etc.).
This is the case for this project, where our four units will cool two lifting cranes installed on offshore construction vessels.
This project is a prime example of our expertise: it involves taking our standard RFI 750 chillers and adding a range of protective finishes.
These units feature: stainless steel chassis, stainless steel cable glands, stainless steel control cabinet, stainless steel flanges, and epoxy varnish on welds.
This ensures they can withstand harsh marine conditions while providing efficient cooling.

Technical specifications:
- Cooling capacity (compressor): 61.8 kW at 25°C glycol water outlet temperature, 45°C ambient temperature
- Cooling capacity (compressor): 63.2 kW at 25°C glycol water outlet temperature, 40°C ambient temperature
- Ambient temperature range: -20°C to +45°C
- Setpoint temperature range: 15°C to 30°C
Design of these stainless steel chillers:
- 1 refrigeration circuit operating with R134a
- 2 BITZER scroll compressors mounted in tandem
- 1 set of condensers with polyester coating
- 4 axial roof fans
- 1 electronic expansion valve
- 1 brazed plate evaporator protected by a flow controller
- Epoxy varnish on brazed joints
- 1 pressurized tank with a minimum capacity of 150 liters
- 1 pressurization equipment kit (excluding expansion vessel)
- 1 CM10-3 pump
- 1 custom-made 316 stainless steel frame (unpainted)
- Connections via PN 16 – DN 50 stainless steel flanges
- 1 AISI 316 stainless steel control cabinet
- Stainless steel cable glands
- 1 PLC for controlling the entire cooling system
- Modbus TCP/IP connection according to the exchange table (provided during the detailed design phase)
- 1 front panel disconnect switch
- A4 screws
