A cooler for an oven : what for?
We find part of our technical cooler team in St Quentin Fallavier (38), at BMI, specialist in vacuum ovens for industrial use (aeronautics, automotive, medical…).
But then: why “cooling down an oven”?
Vacuum heat treatment furnaces are capable of performing numerous processes such as gas quenching, annealing, tempering, and brazing.
These high-value-added processes in vacuum furnaces demand impeccable quality. This quality depends in part on the quality of the vacuum within the furnace.
To achieve a suitable vacuum level, the furnaces are equipped with a diffusion pump, based on the principle of oil vaporization. This oil vapor must absolutely not rise into the treatment chamber, and one solution to prevent this is to condense it.
It is during this crucial condensation stage that our RDD 800 cooling unit (direct expansion chiller, detailed specifications below) comes into play.
During our commissioning today, we check the chiller installation, the refrigerant charge, proper operation (both at idle and under load), and the settings of the various control parameters.
