However, it is better suited to certain uses, such as in the food and beverage, pharmaceutical, etc. industries.

Most often mixed with water (the glycol content of the mixture is then expressed as a percentage), glycol forms an antifreeze solution that circulates in the cooling system.

Its main functions are:
– Lowering the freezing point: glycol prevents water from freezing in pipes at low temperatures, which could damage equipment (example: a 50% glycol solution can protect down to about -35°C);
– Raising the boiling point: it also allows the fluid to operate at higher temperatures without boiling, useful in certain industrial systems;
– Preventing corrosion: glycol solutions often contain corrosion inhibitors that protect metallic components (such as aluminum, copper, or steel) from rust;
– And finally, improve heat exchange: even though pure glycol has a lower heat capacity than water, it remains effective as a heat transfer fluid in demanding environments.
It is therefore naturally found in many “cooling” devices: industrial and commercial refrigeration units, chillers for cooling buildings or machines, process cooling systems (e.g., breweries, laboratories), etc.

</details>

<details class="wp-block-details has-base-background-color has-background is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow">
TECHNICAL – What is a microchannel condenser?

Microchannels are a heat exchanger technology (for condensers or evaporators) where the refrigerant circulates through very small, parallel aluminum channels (often just a few millimeters in internal diameter).
The refrigerant is distributed across several aluminum microtubes, and the large exchange surface area (thanks to the multiple thin channels and external fins) allows for more efficient heat transfer.
Furthermore, aluminum, being lighter and 100% recyclable, also offers better thermal conductivity than copper.

Advantages include: reduced refrigerant charge (30% to 40% on average), resulting in a smaller environmental footprint; improved energy efficiency (thanks to optimized heat exchange); and increased durability (due to better resistance to corrosion and impacts).
This is one of the technical solutions our engineers can offer to optimize your operating costs.

</details>

<details class="wp-block-details has-base-background-color has-background is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow">
TECHNICAL – What is a skid (or hydraulic skid)?

A hydraulic skid is a prefabricated module that integrates all the hydraulic components necessary for the proper functioning of a cooling (or heating) system into a single chassis (the “skid”).
It typically includes (depending on the specific application): circulation pumps, valves (shut-off, regulating, and safety), buffer tanks (or reservoirs), bypasses, and an automated control system.
It is essentially a turnkey hydraulic power unit, ready to be connected to the existing piping network on-site.
Installation time is therefore significantly reduced, and this system also often offers greater flexibility, increased reliability, and easier maintenance.

In short, this “mini hydraulic power unit” is often a very useful addition for managing hydraulic systems independently of the cooling function.

</details>

<details class="wp-block-details has-base-background-color has-background is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow">
TECHNICAL – What is PID?

The P&ID (Piping & Instrumentation Diagram) is a diagram that describes the entire piping and instrumentation circuit of a system.
In a refrigeration circuit, you’ll find various components, represented by symbols, such as the compressor, evaporator, condenser, and expansion valve. Depending on the system, you might also find sensors, check valves, pumps, tanks, etc.
It’s therefore a crucial product design tool because it will guide component purchasing, assembly methods, and more.
And this document is yours! Once your equipment design is fully finalized and approved, we can provide you with this P&ID for your internal use.

</details>

<details class="wp-block-details has-base-background-color has-background is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow">
TECHNICAL – What is GWP?

The Global Warming Potential (GWP) is the ratio of a gas’s warming potential to that of CO2, thus indicating its harmfulness in terms of the greenhouse effect.
Each refrigerant is assigned a GWP index, which allows for the assessment of its environmental impact.

Example : the GWP of R410a is 2100 (i.e., 2100 times more harmful than CO2), while the GWP of R1234yf is only 4.

Note that some fluids can be interchanged (with some more or less significant adaptations to the device).

Summary table of refrigerant gases

</details>

Your question is not in this list?

Contact-us

Supporting you in your choices You may not be an expert in industrial refrigeration and […]

["post-4741","page","type-page","status-publish","hentry
["GET
